Mirror Gold
There is a version of every classic that makes you wonder why it was ever done the other way. This is that version of the French tip. The blush-nude base was chosen with the same care that goes into choosing the correct foundation shade — not too pink, not too beige, warm enough to read as skin at its very best, present enough to hold the gold without competing with it. The gold tip was applied by hand — a chrome powder worked into the gel while it was still in the correct state, the metallic particles aligned at the surface by the pressure and direction of the applicator. The result is not gold-coloured polish. It is mirror gold: the tip genuinely reflects what is in front of it, the way a piece of jewellery does. The edge between nude and gold is clean, sharp, and consistent across every nail — because the only thing more impressive than a perfect gold tip is a perfect gold tip that is exactly the same height on all ten nails. This was checked. This was corrected when necessary. This was finished when it was right. The French tip has existed for decades. This is the version it was always trying to become.
