We began with the darkest brown we could find — the colour of raw cacao, of dark roasted things, of the inside of a luxury confection box before it is opened. Not a warm brown, not a sweet brown. A serious brown. The kind that belongs on the wrists of someone who knows exactly what she wants and has stopped explaining herself to anyone.
Then we carved it. Every ridge running from base to tip — thin lines pressed vertically into the surface, each one perfectly parallel, each one catching light at a slightly different angle so that the nail reads differently as your hand moves. The bronze that lives in the grooves is not painted on. It is revealed — the way light finds the inside of a shell or the grain of dark wood. It was always there. We simply made space for it to show.
This is a set that requires no other jewellery. It is already wearing it.
